Sketch Design	A design made using the traditional techniques of paper and pencil.
CAD Design	A design made using the latest computer aided design software.
Wax Moulding	A prototype mould hand made from wax used to cast an item in precious metal.
Rapid prototyping	The process by which a high precision wax mould is made by machine from a CAD design.
Casting	The process by which a fabricated item is made in precious metal from a mould.
Manufacturing	The art of manipulating precious metal to create fine jewellery.
Repairs	The art of restoring damaged jewellery to its original condition.
Electroplating	The process by which a fine plating is coated onto an item by way of electrolosys ie. Rhodium/gold plating
Lapidary	The art of cutting/polishing precious stones to give them a unique cut.
Setting	Fastening a diamond or gemstone into a jewellery item.
Re-stringing	Re-threading pearls or beads to make a necklace.
Hallmarking	A series of marks struck on items of precious metal to guarantee their purity.
Engraving	The art of incising a design or words onto item of jewellery.
Lasering	A precision laser used to fuse metal together. Ideal for Platinum work and where minimal heat transference is required.
Valuations	Applying value to an item of jewellery mainly for insurance purposes.
